Scientific Discovery finds An oxygen treatment to reverse aging

Researchers from Tel Aviv University and the Shamir Medical Center report on how hyperbaric oxygen treatments can stop the aging of blood cells and reverse the aging process. “the adults' blood cells actually grow younger as the treatments progress”.
The treatments devised involved high pressure oxygen in a pressure chamber in which 35 people aged 64 and older are subjected to a series of 60 hyperbaric sessions over a period of 90 days. The blood analysis following the treatment showed the lengthening of up to 38% of the telomeres and a decrease of up to 37% in the presence of senescent cells.
Telomeres are the protective caps at the ends of the DNA molecules that make up our chromosomes, whereas senescent cells are involved in a biological processes in ageing and age-related disorders.
The findings indicated the reversal of the aging process with telomeres growing longer instead of shorter at a rate of 20%-38% and the senescent cells in the overall cell population had reduced significantly by 11%-37%.
