Insta360 One X
Action Camera
If you are on an action travel trip or want to explore your creativity, the Insta360 One X will capture superb 360 footage at up to 5.7K resolution.
Not just for great HDR quality action video, this relatively small portable unit takes great pics too. You get superb stabilisation, slow motion and hyperlapse shooting by simply hitting record, then walk and all the editing is done in post to give you a great time capture. Another feature is the time shift function which utilises hyperlapse and slow motion to produce footage at variable frame rates. Being a 360 camera, you don’t need to worry about pointing at a subject, everything is getting captured. The re-framing is done in post when you produce your footage.
The HDR video mode does a nice job at getting better dynamic range and lighting. It will take surprisingly impressive pics even in direct sunlight.
Drone like shots are possible with the available selfie stick. You’ll need decent space as it is quite long but used in the right places will provide a great affect.
The battery life could be better, but consider it is a fairly light unit and so the 60 minutes run-time is less of an issue as you get a removable battery which you can replace with a spare.
