VanMoof’s Futuristic Anti-Theft Electrified Bikes

Dutch company VanMoof have revealed their latest electric bikes, the VanMoof Electrified S2 & X2. Both variants are quipped with anti-theft technology and come with concealed electrical components. There is no battery visible!

Owning one of these bikes isn't done in the conventional way, there is a subscription consisting of a one time ‘Key Fee’ and a monthly subscription rate. This novel service offers convenient benefits particularly for travellers visiting cities like Tokyo, London or New York, and more. Whilst in these cities you can use a VanMoof bike to get around and drop it off when you're done. This is sure to appeal.

The bike's theft defence offers tamper detection to arm the bike with a sound emitting warning if touched, followed by a louder sound if the tampering continues. The bike will disable the motor, the stealth lock feature will stop the wheels from turning and there's also a tracking signal emitted to help locate the bike.

The Turbo Boost function offers addictive on-demand acceleration at the push of a button, whilst the Matrix Display lights up on the frame for an interactive and helpful ride.

Another smart feature is the Rider Recognition system, the bike responds to your paired device (mobile), the bike will unlock automatically on approach. Alternatively enter your personal code to manually unlock.

Sizing-wise, the X2 sits riders between 5’- 6’5”, whilst the S2 sits riders between 5’6” – 6’8”
